Design

A great design requires vision, communication and planning. We start by establishing the needs of our customer, which is usually done with a visit to their home. This way we can visit about their thoughts on the space and the needs they may have or the desires and goals that they want to achieve, and to answer any preliminary questions that they might have about the space or about technologies that are available. We check out the space where the system is to be installed (or, in the way of new construction, we obtain a floor plan for their home) to establish distances, acoustics, lighting and other issues that will affect the final performance of the room. Next is to put these observations together with the goals established with the family and to bring the vision to paper.

With the extensive knowlege that we have about our industry and about the companies that create the products, we choose the best products to fit the needs of the system as well as the budget. On the technology side of our industry, there are the 'advertisers' and then there are the 'doers'. The 'advertisers' talk about it, but the 'doers' actually do it! Because of this divide, you may find that our brand choices are names that you may not be familiar with, but you'll see that we only use the quality brands - the 'doers' - providing the best quality products with the best performance. You'll also find that our brand choices may change depending on the budget that is requested. The reason is simple: manufacturers that are the best choice at one price may not be the best choice at another price. To go further, a manufacturer that is excellent at one type of product is generally not as good at another product. For example, Samsung may make excellent TV's, but their DVD players are always equiped with a limited software control system and are challenging to control properly in a Home Theater control system - therefore, not the best choice for a great system.
